My photos hung at Whistle Stop in July

Moved out of San Francisco recently, now in San Diego.
Life is chill here, and San Diego has a pretty cool underground art + music scene.
Lately, my life has been filled w sunshine goodness, crafting + jammin' w the ladies, reconnecting w old friends/connecting w rad, creative individuals, kitty cuddling, paipo boarding, hula/tahitian dancing, playing uke, freelance jobs, and new projects in the works....

Cultural Imperialism photo series

"Every work of art represents the vision of the creator and reveals the surface of the collective mind. Artists offer the world the pain and beauty of their soul as a gift to open the eyes and heal the collective. Art sings and shouts from the universe of truth to wake us up to who we are and where we are going." - Alex Grey

Series of images commenting on cultural imperialism, neo-colonialism, and globalization.....
Juxtaposing past/present photos, collage, childhood memories, Filipino/Spanish cultural traditions.....Philippines colonization.....

Heartbreaking Story "LOLA" 2009 (lola means grandmother in tagalog)....written by Pusan International Film Festival

Synopsis:
A grandson stabbed to death for a cell phone; the killer also a grandson. These grandmothers lead very hard, rough lives: one lola trying to find cash for a funeral, while the other is doing all she can to raise cash to free her apo (grandchild/grandson/grand daughter- gender neutral world).

Realistic look at the lives of those who barely get by, and insight into the Filipino Culture in the Philippines.

A moving and beautiful film.
